About Me

 - Exgirlfriend is about Gavin, not Tony.

 - The pregnant woman in the Just A Girl video is Gwen's sister Jill, who was pregnant with Madeline.

 - The original title for Hey Baby was Girls & Boys.

 - The band were considering naming Rock Steady (the album) Hella Good.

 - "Staring Problem" is the oldest song on "Return of Saturn" and was written in Gwen's living room with Eric Stefani. "Bathwater" was written at the last moment, and Exgirlfriend was re-written at the last minute.
 - Waiting Room was originally recorded for Return Of Saturn, but didn't fit with the mood, so it ended up on Rock Steady.

 - At the beginning of "Home Now", the person says 'Victoria, change at Victoria'. This is taken from the underground tube on the Victoria Line (blue) in London, nearby where Gavin lives.

 - During the filming of "Don't Speak", most of the footage had to be cut out because Gwen was so hysterical crying.
 - The original drummer of the band, Chris Webb, left the band because his girlfriend got pregnant.

 - Gavin used to do drugs - see the lyrics to Cellophane Boy and Detective

 - Gavin's dog Winston (who was the ring bearer at their wedding!) died in 2004. Apparently they had a little step built for him so he could jump up onto their bed - how cute!

Gwen designed the covers for The Beacon St Collection and Rock Steady - Tom and Gwen wrote Dark Blue about G & G while in Philadelphia.

 - The person on the cover of BSC is Gwen's grandfather.

 - Tom and Gwen wrote Dark Blue about G & G while in Philadelphia

 - Most old ND demo tracks that also feature a male vocalist are most likely to be Alan Meade, not John Spence. Alan took charge of the male vocals after John died, but left the band a year later.

 - Sunday Morning began when Gwen was sick in the bathroom with a hangover one morning, and she had locked Tony out so he sat outside and sang to her.

 - Tony met Eric Carpenter, and old member of ND, at band camp!!

 - Snakes was written about the record industry - Interscope in particular, who had dumped the band after their first album didn't sell well.

 - The band have only ever played Hey You live with an electric guitar once, after one of Tom's strings broke on his acoustic guitar during a show.

 - When the band performed at their high school in the talent show, they named themselves Apple Core, before later coming up with No Doubt.

 - Eric once made a cartoon video clip for Big City Train. A forum member met him once and he gave her a copy. It was never officially released, apparently it wasn't quite finished.

 - The Too Late instrumental version at the end of Return Of Saturn was performed by an orchestra. The band planned to record the song with the orchestra, but it didn't fit with their style, so they recorded it on their own (which is track 9) and included the orchestra version at the end of the album.

 - Sublime have performed a cover of Brand New Day during concerts.

 - The birthdial behind Gwen and Adrian in the SKOL video says 'Simply too complicated'

 - The budget for the Trapped In A Box video was only $5000

 - The Just A Girl video also features Gwen's brother Todd. If you want to know what he looks like, he is on the RS Live DVD in the piece on Gwen. It also has Tom's girlfriend at the time Hope, and Adrian's ex.

 - The dress Gwen wore in the Don't Speak video was from an op-shop and had a huge rip down the side. It smelled really bad and only fit Gwen once she washed it and it shrunk.

 - The guy that Tom is jamming with in the Don't Speak video is Pat Smear who has been in Nirvana and the Foo Fighters.

 - The video for Oi To The World is based around an anti-racist theme.

 - Gwen's pink microphone from the Exgirlfriend video was auctioned off to charity.

 - Adrian dressed up as Gwen for the Bathwater video - during the line "Why do the good girls always want the bad boys?" He had to spend 3 hours in makeup for preparation.

 - The girls who appear in the Bathwater clip are the Pussycat Dolls, who are friends of the band, appear on the RS Live dvd, and supported the band during some of the RS tour in 2002.

 - The scene from Hey Baby where Adrian gets up naked on the rings is based on real events - he did it backstage at a party once after everyone offered to give him money to do it.

 - On the wall next to Gwen in the Underneath It All video when they are playing basketball, someone has written "douche" which is the name given to Tom's alter ego when he's drunk.

 - David LaChapelle who shot the video for It's My Life also shot the cover for Return Of Saturn.

 - Southside had actually been recorded two years before it was released. Moby was dissatisfied with the way Gwen's vocals turned out, but he later remixed and released it, getting Gwen to appear in the video.

 - The guy on the swing in the Sunday Morning clip is Terry Hall of The Specials

 - The band once played a secret gig under the name 'No Diggity'

 - Gwen and Tony had just broken up in some hotel room, she went from the hotel to the car park balling her eyes out, then Bjork comes up to her and says "oh hi, how are you and your boyfriend?" and she just walks away crying, then on the way home, a Bjork song comes on the radio and Bjork is in her car driving in front of Gwen, Gwen was like "my life is wierd", haha.

 - LeSportsac and LAMB are no longer partners, which means no more LAMB bags  =(

Gavin used to be bisexual. He used to hang out in gay bars with Boy George in the late 80's.

 - The voice at the end of Beauty Contest is Madeline's

 - Taken from 'Scar Tissue', Anthony Keidi's (RHCP) biography book:

"It was really hot when we began rehearsing, so we would leave the garage door open. After a few weeks of work, I ran into Gwen Stefani of No Doubt. She was Flea's distant neighbour across the ravine on the opposite mountain. 'I hear you guys play every day,' she said. 'My friends come over, and we sit around and listen. It sounds great!' It was nice to get the compliment, but it was a bit embarassing, because we thought we were in this private world, working out our ugly spots (in the music)." And also: "Jennifer Bruce was the hottest go-go dancer this side of the East River. She out-Gwen Stefanied Gwen Stefani before there even was a Gwen Stefani. That's a compliment to both girls."

 - Only 1000 of the BSC vinyl singles were released - Squeal and Doghouse.

 - The original issue of BSC has slight artistic variations to the re-issue.

 - There are two different versions of the Spiderwebs clip - MTV US found the exploding phones too inappropriate for younger viewers.

 - There is a band called Clueless who have recorded dance remixes of Don't Speak and Spiderwebs

 - The man laying on the driveway in the Sunday Morning clip is Eric. The guy on the swing is Terry Hall of The Specials, Donnie Spada (band's stage manager) and Robert Ortiz (band's drum tech) appear on the porch while the band are eating.

 - The line "you say you're gonna burn before you mellow" is actually a line from a Bush song that Gwen stole for Exgirlfriend

 - Original Paulina lyrics:

Paulina, on the cover of Vogue magazine.
Paulina, a woman in my nightly dreams.
Paulina, who dresses up in fancy clothes.
Paulina, she'll get you hard in any pose.

Paulina, no other girl could take her place.
Paulina, with such a perfect body mind and face.
Paulina, no other girl would ever do.
Paulina, I'm saving all my sweat for you.

Paulina, I stare at her pictures all day long.
Paulina, oh boy she really turns me on.
Paulina, with such slender tender godly skin.
Paulina, if I could only stick my penis in.

Paulina, her body's like a sacred shrine.
Paulina, I worship it all of the time.
Paulina, I wrap her picture around my dick.
Paulina, and hope to god it doesn't stick.

 - The name Apple Core as an option for a band name before No Doubt was something that Eric and John came up with, which was a catch phrase from an old Warner Bros cartoon
 - Brad died of a heroin overdose May 25, 1996
 - Gwen on Cool - "I was never intending to go personal," said Stefani. "This was meant to be a get-up-on-the-dancefloor kind of album, you know? But no matter what you do, things just come out, this just ended this whole thing for me in my head and it puts an end to this chapter in a really nice way."

 - Hidden stuff in the JAG video: a red keyboard appears next to Tony, but no one is playing them, there is a ND sticker on Gwen's makeup box, there is a pumpkin in front of the garage at the start, Gwen's top was made out of guy's underwear, the car they are loading up at the beginning and driving in is Eric Keyes' old car, a 1965 Buick LeSabre lic # PIY815 - it got towed about 8 years ago for sitting on the street and he never bothered getting it back. It's also the car on the back of The Beacon Street Collection. The red car was a smashed up rental for the day, Eric's (Keyes) and Adrian's exgirlfriends are seen putting on make-up, one of the ladies who works in the girls bathrooms has a name tag on that says Rose - she also appears in the IML video in the courtroom (possibly related to Gwen).

 - There is a line in a song by Morrisey that Reel Big Fish performed, and they switched a line in the song: " We hate it when our friends become successful / And if they're No Doubt, that makes it even worse"
 - There are a number of ND references in the new BEP album - "I rock steady, no doubt"
 - The back cover of RS was clearly inspired by the cover of Like A Prayer by Madonna - type it into google and see!
 - On the NDIFC website awhile ago they had a poll, and here are the results: Best album - Tragic Kingdom, Best single - Don't Speak, Best video - Simple Kind Of Life, Best collaboration - Underneath It All, Best male member - Adrian.
 - Someone pointed out today that in the video for WYWF, after Gwen says "when will i be finished?" in the studio, she has a jacket, and then when she stands up for the full body shot it is gone. Also, i noticed this about the 2nd time i saw the clip - in HBG, towards the start of the song when they are driving down the street in the car and there is a crowd following them, all of a sudden some strange kid out of nowhere is in the car behind Gwen, then all of a sudden she vanishes again! I think it's just after they show the harajuku girl with the keyboard ring...

 - "Basically, we've known Sublime since 1989 and played tons of shows with 'em. And then, we lost a very talented and amazing singer/songwriter because of drugs, a total waste." - Gwen
 - Gwen's necklace in the Simple Kind Of Life video says 'complicated'

 - Here is the translation of the Japanese subtitles in the Spiderwebs video:
Excellent party. Excellent party.
I really like cake a lot.
What is your name?
This is excellent champagne.
Excellent party. Great champagne.
Hey, what's your name?
I really like cake.
What is this? Crazy kids.
What is this? It's making me sick.
Excellent party. Excellent party.
What is this? What is this?
There's no meaning to it.
What is this?
Let's get out of here! Let's get out of here!
Let's get out of here!
Well, I guess we should leave. Let's get out of here!

 - Here is the translation of the french in Luxurious, spoken by Gavin:
"C'est pas possible cet amour" - Is not possible this love
"C'est incroyable" - It's unbelievable
"Tu me fais transpirer" - You make me sweat
"C'est parfait" - It's perfect
--------------------------------------
"Tu es si jolie, c'est pas possible" - You're so beautiful, it is impossible
"C'est jamais assez" - It's never enough

"Tu me fais sentir" - You make me feel
"C'est parfait je suis bien avec toi" - It's perfect, I'm fine with you
"Je suis bien" - I'm fine

 - Here are the unprinted lyrics to Marry Me that you can hear Gwen softly singing in the background:
3:22min  :  Resented
3:26min  : Rented
3:29min  :  Apprensive
3:33min :  You meant it
3:37min  :  You meant it
